By doing all this, resources needed for mobility can be optimized at an unprecedented level – both in terms of increased usage of each car, when usage and ownership can be decoupled, and in terms of operating the car in an energy-efficient way. Furthermore, maintenance can be done proactively and assistance in case of accidents can be automated. As a result, shared mobility solutions can provide vehicle access to those who currently do not have it.

The main idea that brought WirelessCar into existence back in 1999 was to form the missing link between the automotive industry and the world of telecom technology, and create a one stop shop for mobile e-services for vehicles.
Our very first customer was Volvo Cars, together with whom we launched emergency call and Volvo On Call, and we continue to be one of their proud collaborators to this day.
Ever since the very beginning, we have been fully dedicated to digitizing the automotive industry. What separates us from other companies is that we are not an in-house software department, nor are we a general IoT company working with many different businesses. We are 100% focused on the automotive industry, and on digital services.
Over the years, we have amassed a vast knowledge of automotive structures, requirements and processes. We know how to get things done in the complex automotive world that car makers operate in, and we know the kinds of challenges you face. We have seen first hand how elementary telematics services have evolved into multi-cloud digital services, and how software has gone from being a nice add-on to becoming the core product.
We have launched connected car programs together with many of the biggest car brands in the world, including Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, Subaru, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, and a large group of partners. This has given us a unique opportunity to lead the automotive industry into the future of digital services, and to show how these services can be set up to benefit everyone involved: users, contributors and society at large.
We love technology! But the greatest thrill comes from seeing what technology can do for us as individuals and as a society.
We love discovering new techniques, methodologies and applications, and insights that can be gained from data. At WirelessCar, we are always curious about what is around the corner in terms of – for example – programming languages, frameworks, databases and software development tools, platforms or techniques.
The greatest thrill, however, is to see what technology can do for us as individuals and as a society. For example, predictive maintenance and emergency calls save lives; car-sharing saves resources as well as infrastructure; in-car delivery saves time.
The United Nations ranks connectivity, digitalization and mobility as three of the most important areas of development if the Sustainable Development Goals are to be reached. We wish to contribute to this development by putting our love for technology to work.
